REVIEW – HOURGLASS GIRL LIP STYLO

I really love the Hourglass Girl Lip Stylo lipstick range. This is a brand that has totally come into it’s own stride, they have definitely changed the way we think about makeup; Hourglass creator Carisa Janes founded a brand that has a commitment to becoming an innovative beauty brand. Hourglass is a brand that is acclaimed for its breakthrough formulations and technological innovations. Their products have the most groundbreaking ingredients that help to create beautiful skin.

The Range:

Hourglass recently launched a new line of lipsticks that has twenty available shades from beautiful nudes to berry shades. When they launched in Australia I picked up three of the shades Dreamer, Creator & Activist and one of the original shades Nude no5. These lip stylo’s are super comfortable to wear and not drying at all.

Formula:

The formula of the Hourglass Girl Lip Stylos is described as a “new lip-hybrid that glides on like a moisture-rich balm while imparting a luxurious luminous tint of colour”. Each shade represents a different type of woman that is all very empowering. The range is supposed to remind us that we are all powerful and to recognise the good in others around us, this is a concept that I like to live to in my everyday life with anyone that I come into contact daily.

The formula is a dream come true,as these lip stylos are very hydrating on the lips. They are creamy and easy to apply, and are extremely comfortable on the lips. They stay creamy and comfortable on the lips, they won’t be long lasting like a matte lipstick but that is alright as they are a dream to apply and it is nice to show off the beautiful packaging when pulling out of your bag to reapply. You can achieve a full coverage intensity of the Girl Lip Stylos with two or three swipes over the lips to a more sheer coverage by dabbing on the shade.

Girl Lip Stylo
Overall, these have become a go to lip product that I have been wearing every chance I can. I prefer the nudes to nude pink shades as these are colours that I normally wear but am looking to giving some of the other brighter shades a try. I next want to pick up Inventor and one of the berry shades. These are definitely worth trying, give them a swatch or try them on your lips in store at Mecca Maxima ($46 AUD) before buying and you will be hooked on them like I am.
